Nepal's Target for Tiger Population by 2022- 250 Targeted, Reach 355

It all start before 1950's while the southern plain areas of Nepal which is also called Terai Region is heaven for Royal Bengal Tiger. No Human Conflict, Best place for hunt, naturally gifted place for animals, Nepal's Terai region was best for all kind of Animals.

Then after political change in country and eradication of Malaria after 1950, this area became home of Hunting for Royal Family and closed one. Uncountable Huntings, massive deforestation for settlement of human and more over illegal poaching leads Royal Bengal Tiger with other animals near to Extinct.

Nepal face lot of criticism on failing to save wild animals. It was very critical conditions for Nepalese Government as the countries economy was and is fully depend on toursim. No Animals, No tourism. To preserve these endangered species and their habitat, Nepal implemented, Tiger Conservation Action plan was first implemented in 1999 and contineud till 2012.

In 2010, National Tiger Recovery program was introduced under "GLOBAL TIGER RECOVERY PROGRAM" from 2010-2022, which main target was to double the tiger. There were 120 tiger in Nepal by the year 2009 distributed in different part of Nepal. After the domestic conflict was settled by nepal's government, Nepalese Military went in action to save these animals from poaching and trade and so did by NGO and INGO.

It was not still easy for Nepal to reach the target. But hard work and dedication paid out. Nepal doubled to population just by 2020 by recording 235. The main habitat for tiger was in Bardia National Park and Chitwan national park.

Nepal government not only mobilize Military on forest but started campaign to local people residing near national park about the values of animals, human conflict. Rules were set. Illigal poaching was completly stopped, youths were mobilize in security in forest. To help animals to adapt during global change, some new national parks were added, artificial ponds were constructed, and created more grasslands. And now we can see the result. Nepal is first country to reach " Double the Tiger by 2022" by 355 Tigers. CONGRATULATIONS NEPAL.
